Retired Senior Volunteer Program

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) serves as a clearinghouse, matching volunteers ages 60 and over to community programs needing service. RSVP allows seniors to use their life experience and skills to support organizations within the Huntsville-Madison County area. Volunteers can invest as many or as few hours each week to help fill critical community needs.

RSVP volunteers are 60 years or older who enjoy working with others and want to serve the community. They typically serve organizations such as STUDIO 60, Meals on Wheels, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers teach various creative skills, educational classes, and exercise and fitness. They make afghans for nursing homes and knit hats for premature babies, veterans, and people experiencing homelessness. RSVP volunteers often staff significant community events like the Alabama Sports Festival. No matter how big or small the need, RSVP volunteers work to make Huntsville and Madison County a stronger community.

To volunteer, submit an RSVP enrollment form.
